Musicians’ Union in El Fasher: Residents Living Under Starvation and Total Siege

A statement from the Musicians’ Union in El Fasher has revealed that residents of the city have been forced to eat animal feed and tree bark due to the lack of food and water. It also noted that all hospitals in the city are completely out of service, except for one that is barely functioning.

The statement stressed that the situation in El Fasher has deteriorated to an unbearable level, one that can no longer be met with international silence or humanitarian inaction.

It added that cultural life has come to a complete halt and civil activities have been frozen, while residents suffer under extreme hunger, fear, and a total siege.

The union warned that El Fasher is facing a tragic fate amid near-total neglect by international bodies and humanitarian organizations. It called for the urgent opening of safe corridors and immediate intervention to save what remains of the city.
