
Authorities in Khartoum State have intensified security measures and reinforcements to combat and decisively address the growing phenomenon of lawlessness and insecurity.
The Acting Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, vowed to pursue criminal gangs through coordinated security arrangements and a heightened security presence across the state.
During its regular meeting, the state’s Security Committee — attended by Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Babiker Samra — emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and protection of the state’s residents.
Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) revealed that more than 1.5 million internally displaced people and around 200,000 refugees have returned to Sudan from Egypt and South Sudan.
