Joint UN Team Begins Field Assessment of War-Damaged Institutions

A joint team of UN organizations, including the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Plan Sudan, UNICEF, Suda, International Medical Teams, and the World Food Programme (WFP), has begun a field assessment of institutions affected by the war in White Nile State, under the supervision of the Humanitarian Aid Commission.

The team has started surveying service institutions and homes impacted by the conflict.

The assessment covers shelter, protection, nutrition, health, education, environmental sanitation, and water in Um Ramta locality.

The team conducted on-site visits to war-damaged service institutions and homes, as well as to areas where residents have returned following the conflict in Um Ramta locality.

The deputy executive director of the locality stated that the situation requires urgent interventions to rehabilitate what was destroyed by the war and restore normal life.
