Sudanese Circles Await International Quartet Meeting to Resolve War Crisis

Reports – Mashawir

Sudanese circles are closely watching the upcoming meeting of the International Quartet, scheduled to be held in Washington at the end of July, with the participation of the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. The meeting aims to discuss steps to end the war in Sudan after the failure of all regional and international initiatives to resolve it.

Political sources ruled out the participation of either the army or the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), as well as civilian forces, whether supportive of the “Battle of Dignity” or opposed to the war.

The National Political Forces Group, in a recent meeting, reaffirmed its commitment to homegrown solutions with the assistance of regional and international allies, rejecting the participation of the UAE, “as it is a partner in the aggression and destruction inflicted on the country and is morally unqualified to be part of the mediation.”

The group emphasized its commitment to a national agenda and resolving the crisis through inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue that leaves no one out and ensures the unity of the country.

Earlier, White House Senior Advisor for Africa, Mossad Bolos, affirmed Washington’s determination to reach a peaceful resolution in Sudan, noting that it has been engaging with both warring parties directly and indirectly.
