Voluntary Work Forum Holds International Organizations Fully Responsible for Civilian Suffering in El Fasher
Reports – Mashawir

The Voluntary Work Forum for Development in Sudan expressed deep concern and anguish over the catastrophic situation unfolding in El Fasher, which it described as a violation of all humanitarian norms, international laws, and UN resolutions.
In a statement, the Forum—a non-governmental platform comprising 100 voluntary organizations along with active specialists in the humanitarian and volunteer sectors in Sudan—warned that hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians in the city are now facing the threat of death from hunger and disease. This comes amid widespread power and communication outages, the collapse of health services, and acute shortages of food, water, and medicine, all under continuous shelling and direct targeting of civilians and vital infrastructure.
The statement held UN institutions and international and regional organizations fully accountable for the suffering of civilians in El Fasher.
It called for urgent action to pressure the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to lift the siege, open safe humanitarian corridors, and ensure the protection of civilians.
The Forum also criticized the international community’s disregard for UN Security Council Resolution 2736, which demands an end to the siege of the city and guarantees the delivery of humanitarian aid, as well as the temporary truce proposed by the UN Secretary-General, which was accepted by the government.
