The North Darfur Human Rights Observatory has revealed that militias are detaining dozens of women at the medical supply facility in southeastern El Fasher and at the Jadid Al-Seil camp in the far northeast of the city.
According to a statement by the observatory, the detainees have been subjected to violence, sexual abuse, and forced marriages within the detention centers.
The statement called on international and human rights organizations to take urgent action to uncover the number and fate of the detained women and to ensure their physical and psychological safety.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reportedly using residential areas under their control in the eastern and southern parts of El Fasher as bases for launching attacks on the city and as detention sites.
