Sudan People’s Liberation Movement: Our Forces Are Not in El Fasher Yet… But Will Arrive Soon After Final Arrangements

Follow-ups – Mashawir

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, clarified that its forces are not currently present in El Fasher, but will arrive soon once coordination and joint military operations are finalized under the “Ta’sis” alliance.

This statement comes in response to accusations from the “Joint Forces” of armed movements allied with the Sudanese army, which alleged that SPLM-N took part alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in a recent attack on El Fasher.

In a statement, the SPLM-N said: “We are honored to fight alongside any revolutionary forces working to liberate Sudan and rebuild it on new foundations. However, the recent claims are false, baseless, and part of an ongoing smear campaign with known motives.”

The statement added that the “Ta’sis” alliance aims to return the Sudanese state to the founding platform—to redefine its identity, system of governance, and rebuild it on new foundations.

It further explained: “Consultations are still ongoing among the alliance’s components to agree on coordination and joint military action. After that, the SPLA (Sudan People’s Liberation Army) will arrive in El Fasher, but at present, it is not there.”
