“RSF” Carries Out Arrest and Arbitrary Detention Campaign in Bara
Follow-ups – Mashawir

Local sources reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are carrying out a campaign of arrests and arbitrary detention of residents in the city of Bara, North Kordofan State, while looting supplies and foodstuffs. This has worsened the suffering of civilians in a city already facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, along with an almost complete shutdown of markets and the closure of many schools.
The sources added that the forces are imposing fees and fines on anyone attempting to flee, while concealing their combat vehicles under the shade of trees south and east of the city to avoid surveillance and airstrikes.
Bara is considered a pivotal point for RSF supply lines and one of its largest gathering sites in North Kordofan. The militia’s control over residents’ movement serves as a tool of field and logistical pressure.
By positioning themselves in Bara, northeast of El-Obeid, the state capital, the RSF aim to threaten the city, which is an administrative hub and a strategically vital passage linking Khartoum, Kordofan, and Darfur.
