Abu Shouk Emergency: Rising Death Rates from Malnutrition and Food Shortages

Reports – Mashawir

The Abu Shouk Camp Emergency Committee said in a statement that at least five people were killed and more than five others injured as a result of artillery shells hitting the homes of displaced persons.

It pointed to a sharp increase in death rates caused by malnutrition and lack of food, with around seven people dying each week from hunger.

The committee noted that one-third of the camp has turned into an active military operations zone after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) advanced inside it, leading to the destruction of about 98 percent of the camp’s water facilities.
