OCHA: Humanitarian Situation in South Kordofan Heading Toward Catastrophe
Reports – Mashawir

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that the humanitarian situation in the cities of Kadugli and Dilling in South Kordofan State is heading toward catastrophe as fighting between warring parties intensifies.
In a joint statement with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Sudan, OCHA said that aid workers are trapped due to escalating military operations in El Obeid, Kadugli, and Dilling in North and South Kordofan States.
The statement highlighted that the few remaining safe corridors are now under threat, calling on all parties to act urgently to save civilian lives and prevent further suffering.
Last weekend, military aircraft dropped relief supplies, cash, and military aid in Kadugli to ease the worsening humanitarian situation. However, conditions continue to deteriorate daily amid a cholera outbreak.
Over the past two years, the war in Sudan has shifted, with the center of military operations moving to Kordofan and Darfur after the army seized control of Khartoum and Gezira State earlier this year.
