The hunger crisis, lack of healthcare, and spread of diseases in El Fasher have worsened due to ongoing fighting, continuous shelling, and a siege on the city that has lasted for more than a year and a half.
The cumulative number of cholera cases has risen to 9,838, with 407 deaths recorded.
An update released yesterday (Wednesday) by the Darfur General Coordination for Displaced Persons revealed that the epidemic continues to spread widely across the region, with higher rates in the localities of Tawila, Al-Roubia, and the Jebel Marra areas, particularly in Golo locality.
The statement also reported an increase in cases in the Hamidiya and Hasahisa camps for displaced people in Zalingei, Central Darfur, as well as in surrounding areas and villages.
