The United States has called for unhindered humanitarian access to Tarsin Village in Jebel Marra, western Sudan, and to all other disaster-affected areas.

A statement from the U.S. State Department urged the Sudanese government, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Abdel Wahid Mohammed al-Nur to immediately allow unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of Sudan.
The United Nations, citing field sources, reported that between 300 and 1,000 people were killed in the landslide, though the full extent of the disaster remains unclear due to the difficulty of accessing the area.
