Deterioration of Security in Um Rawaba and Increase in Looting and Home Invasions
Follow-ups – Mashawir

The security situation has deteriorated in the city of Um Rawaba, North Kordofan State, over the past few days, leading to an increase in nighttime looting and home invasions.
Several residents complained of chaos and assaults carried out by armed elements operating in the city’s outskirts, particularly late at night and in the early hours before dawn.
They reported scattered incidents of looting affecting several homes in the Al-Quds and Othman bin Affan neighborhoods north of the city.
Residents further explained that the armed men carried out break-ins and armed threats inside homes. They also pointed out that the markets were not spared from this wave of insecurity, as the city’s market has, from time to time, witnessed break-ins and looting targeting shops and stalls—especially the southern market, known as the “Popular Market” or Sooq al-Fur.
