“Mithaq Ahl Al-Jazira” Forum Sounds Alarm Over Sudan’s Deteriorating Health Situation

Agencies – Mashawir

The “Mithaq Ahl Al-Jazira” Forum sounded the alarm over the worsening health situation in the country, which has reached a stage that poses a real threat to national health security, due to the rapid epidemic spread of dengue fever in Khartoum and Al-Jazira states, and its dangerous expansion into the Nile River and White Nile states.

The forum expressed deep concern, calling on the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and the Prime Minister to intervene urgently by declaring a state of maximum health emergency in the affected states, allocating the necessary resources to combat the epidemic, and holding negligent officials in the Ministry of Health accountable.

Health authorities in Khartoum State are struggling to contain dengue and malaria through intensified aerial and ground fogging campaigns to control disease vectors.

Meanwhile, residents of the capital complain of the absence of healthcare, a shortage of life-saving medicines, and a lack of medical supplies.
