World Health Organization: “21 Million” Sudanese Suffer from High Levels of Malnutrition

Mashawir – Follow-ups

The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that more than 21 million people in Sudan are suffering from high levels of malnutrition and food insecurity.

The organization urged the international community not to overlook the situation in Sudan, warning that the continuation of the war threatens the lives of millions of civilians and undermines prospects for recovery in the absence of adequate funding or safe humanitarian access.

The latest Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report revealed that 21.2 million people in Sudan are facing high levels of acute food insecurity after 30 months of fighting, with 375,000 people living in actual catastrophic conditions.
