The American and Saudi administrations have delivered a new initiative aimed at stopping the war in Sudan to the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
According to Al-Sharq channel, the Saudi-American proposal to end the war in Sudan begins with a humanitarian truce, followed by a cessation of hostilities, and concludes with a permanent ceasefire.
In the meantime, al-Burhan discussed the Saudi-American proposal to stop the war with his partners in both joint and separate meetings.
The armed conflict in Sudan broke out in April 2023, leaving thousands dead and wounded, and resulting in the displacement and seeking of refuge for more than 12 million people.
