The Sudanese General Authority for Meteorology has issued an orange alert indicating high danger due to an expected heatwave in the states of Kassala, Khartoum, Al Jazirah, Gedaref, Sennar, White Nile, and Blue Nile.
The impact of the wave begins on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM and continues until Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
The Authority explained that excessive exposure to heat during this period may lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.
It advised citizens to drink sufficient amounts of water, avoid outdoor activities during peak hours, and refrain from direct exposure to sunlight for long periods.
