On April 15, 2026, the German capital, Berlin, will host the third edition of the Conference to Support Peace and Reconstruction in Sudan, as part of ongoing international efforts to address the Sudanese crisis politically and humanitarianly.
Informed sources said that the invitations included about 40 figures from Sudanese political and societal forces, in addition to independent figures.
Explaining that a preparatory meeting will be held in Addis Ababa between April 10 and 12 under the auspices of the five-party mechanism that includes the African Union, the United Nations, the European Union, the Arab League and IGAD.
The sources added that the preparatory meeting aims to form a committee of participants to manage the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, in preparation for organizing discussions during the Berlin conference.
The sources indicated that there were disagreements over the lists of invitees, explaining that some political forces did not receive invitations, including the Popular Congress, Al-Amin Mahmoud’s wing, along with other parties.
