The National Umma Party has condemned what it described as the “systematic” targeting of electricity substations and vital infrastructure using drones operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In a statement, the party said that more than 13 electricity substations had been targeted so far, resulting in the shutdown of the national electricity grid.
The statement added that the attacks had caused severe damage to infrastructure and compounded the suffering of citizens already facing extremely harsh humanitarian and living conditions as a result of the ongoing war.
The party also condemned the continued targeting of civilians, vital facilities and markets by drones operated by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
It further stated that attacks on markets had resulted in hundreds of casualties in Darfur and West Kordofan.
