The Central Darfur State Emergency Rooms Coordination Council has provided sports support to the local football association, including comprehensive sports equipment and supplies for 10 clubs in the state, as part of its efforts to support young people and strengthen social cohesion.
Al-Zein Issa, a member of the Central Darfur Emergency Room, told Mashaweer that “the support represents a preparatory step toward organizing an upcoming sports tournament in the coming days, with the participation of the beneficiary clubs, with the aim of providing young people and athletes with a space to engage in sports activities in an encouraging environment.”
He explained that “the initiative also seeks to strengthen communication among different components of society and promote the values of cooperation and fair competition.”
He noted that “sports can play an effective civic role in supporting social peace, rebuilding the social fabric, and creating positive spaces for young people.”
Issa stressed that “attention to the sports sector stems from a belief in the role of young people as a fundamental pillar in peacebuilding and promoting stability.”
He also highlighted the importance of providing activities that help young people channel their energy positively amid the difficult circumstances created by the war.
