The women’s Emergency Room in Kreinik carried out an activity as part of the Safe Spaces Program for Displaced Women, launched by the West Darfur Emergency Rooms Coordination Council. The program aims to provide women with a safe environment where they can express their needs and concerns and discuss the challenges they face.
The safe space gave participants an opportunity to speak freely and share their experiences in an environment that respects privacy and dignity. It also provided a setting for listening and dialogue on issues affecting their lives and addressing their needs.
Abdelrahman Haroun, a member of the West Darfur Emergency Rooms Coordination Council, told Mashaweer that “safe spaces are not merely activities; they provide women with an opportunity to meet, express themselves and share their experiences, while also learning about the services and support available to them.”
Haroun stressed that “listening to women and understanding their needs is an essential step toward providing a more effective humanitarian response, strengthening protection, and building communities that are more resilient in the face of difficult circumstances.”
