The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed to Trump’s adviser the importance of launching a Sudanese-owned political process.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in Sudan.
He also emphasised the need to intensify humanitarian assistance amid concerns over the deteriorating situation caused by food shortages in Sudan.
The war in Sudan erupted in April 2023, leaving millions of people dead, injured, displaced and seeking refuge in neighbouring countries.
