The Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Denise Brown, said that the intensifying pattern of drone attacks is causing growing fear among the population.
“There is no justification for repeatedly targeting power stations and fuel facilities,” she added.
She explained that people, particularly farmers, are facing a shortage of rainfall and are being forced to flee in search of food.
“We have hundreds of trucks stranded due to fuel shortages. Without fuel, we will be unable to deliver food to those in need or support children suffering from severe acute malnutrition,” she continued.
She further noted that acute malnutrition rates are extremely high and exceed the emergency threshold in many parts of the country.
