Sharp divisions among the political forces and blocs invited to participate in the consultative meetings of Sudanese political forces are threatening the fate of the gatherings being organized by the African Union in Addis Ababa from October 6 to 10.
Sources within the Civil Alliance of the Forces of the Revolution (Sumud) explained that the alliance objected to the participation of parties aligned with the two warring sides in Sudan and has withdrawn from the meeting.
Meanwhile, following their meeting with the African Union in Addis Ababa to discuss the nature and details of the invitation, the Democratic Bloc Parties Group, the National Movement Forces, the Sudan Justice Alliance, the Return to the Founding Platform Coordination, the Popular Congress Party, and the Civil Society Organizations Coalition announced their rejection of the participation of what is called the “Tasis Government” (supported by the Rapid Support Forces) in the dialogue process.
