United Nations: 130 Aid Workers Killed, Most of Them Sudanese

New York – Mashawir

The United Nations has reported that more than 130 aid workers have been killed since 2023, the majority of them Sudanese.

The organization added that ongoing attacks on the health sector and medical facilities continue to claim the lives of healthcare workers and patients alike.

For its part, the OCHA described the war in Sudan as “the most dangerous crisis for humanitarian workers in the world.”

It warned of the potential collapse of a critical lifeline for millions of Sudanese and called on the international community to provide urgent funding for the humanitarian response plan.

Meanwhile, Resident Humanitarian Coordinator Luca Renda emphasized that despite these threats, Sudanese humanitarian workers continue to deliver aid, crossing frontlines, navigating insecurity and bureaucracy, and risking everything to reach those in need.

“They have not given up—and neither should we,” he said.
