The Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean, Hanan Balkhy, expressed deep concern over the continued spread of dengue fever in Sudan.
She revealed that infections have exceeded 75,500 cases, with 169 deaths reported across 15 states as of April 24.
She added that Khartoum, Al Jazirah, and Gedaref are among the most affected areas.
She warned that the suspension of surveillance and weak vector control measures are contributing to the worsening spread of infectious diseases.
