Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of a site within the premises of Khartoum Airport in Sudan.
In an official statement, the Kingdom affirmed its firm position in calling for the preservation of Sudan’s unity, its legitimate institutions, the resources of its people, as well as its security and stability.
The statement also stressed the importance of keeping civilian infrastructure and vital facilities away from the conflict.
Saudi Arabia further called on all parties to de-escalate tensions, immediately halt such violations, and adhere to the commitments outlined in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023, particularly those related to the protection of civilians, civilian objects, and respect for international humanitarian law.
The Kingdom also urged neighboring countries to respect Sudan’s sovereignty and independence, and to prevent their territories from being used as a launch point for such attacks.
