The Death Toll Among Medical Personnel in Sudan Rises to 235

Omdurman – Mashawir

The Sudan Doctors Network announced that the number of medical personnel killed since the beginning of the war has risen to 235, following the killing of laboratory doctor Adel Musa Al-Tijani in the city of Kosti, White Nile State, as a result of a drone strike.

The network explained that “the incident occurred on Tuesday morning” amid continued attacks targeting civilian areas, further worsening the humanitarian situation.

It added that the health sector remains one of the most severely affected sectors, with 511 medical workers injured, while 84 others remain detained, including 20 in El Fasher and 64 in Nyala, under what it described as poor conditions.

Since the outbreak of the war, hundreds of medical personnel have been subjected to killing, arbitrary detention, kidnapping, enforced disappearance, harassment, and threats of assassination. Female doctors have also reportedly faced sexual assaults in several areas across Kordofan and Darfur states. In addition, dozens were allegedly forced by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to provide treatment to wounded fighters from military battles.
