United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf are scheduled to hold a summit tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss the crisis in Sudan among other agenda items.
The meetings will address the Sudanese crisis, humanitarian aid issues, and ongoing initiatives aimed at ending the war.
The United Nations and the African Union are working through the five-party mechanism, which also includes the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the League of Arab States, and the European Union, to contain the crisis in Sudan and bring political forces closer together in preparation for launching a process to discuss the future governance of the country.
