Six Killed in Drone Attack in East Darfur

East Darfur – Mashawir

Six people were killed in a drone attack on the city of El Daein, which is under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in East Darfur, according to a medical source quoted by Agence France-Presse on Tuesday, as the RSF continues to face a series of defections within its ranks.

A medical source at El Daein Hospital said that “the hospital received six bodies following the drone strike,” adding that the party responsible for the attack had not been identified. The attack also injured five people, three of whom are in critical condition.

The “Ta’sis” alliance, the political wing affiliated with the RSF, accused the Sudanese army of carrying out the attack, saying in a statement that the strikes continued from Monday evening until Tuesday morning.

The war between the Sudanese army and the RSF has now entered its fourth year, leaving tens of thousands dead, displacing millions, and creating a devastating humanitarian crisis. Airstrikes and drone attacks have increasingly dominated the course of the conflict, particularly along newly emerging frontlines.
