Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the U.S. President on Arab and African Affairs, confirmed that Donald Trump “is seeking to address the humanitarian catastrophe in Sudan.”
In a post on the platform X, Boulos stated that “the Berlin Declaration of Principles, agreed upon by 22 countries and international organizations, provides a framework for reaching a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict in Sudan.”
He renewed his call for external parties to stop providing military support to both sides, “as such support fuels the conflict and hinders progress toward achieving a humanitarian truce.”
He further explained that “Sudan needs a permanent ceasefire and comprehensive peace, to be achieved through an inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and a transition to civilian leadership.”
