Drone Strike Kills 14 People, Including Women, in Sudan’s Tina Border Town

Al-Tina – Mashawir

At least 14 people, most of them women, were killed in a drone strike that targeted a market in the Sudanese border town of Al-Tina near Chad. The attack was attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to a government source and a survivor cited by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The survivor, who spoke via satellite internet due to the communications blackout in the country, said residents rushed to the scene and found the bodies of the 14 victims.

He explained that “the attack targeted a gathering of women selling food and tea in the town market.”

A government official also confirmed the attack, stating that authorities are currently working to determine the final number of casualties.

Al-Tina, located in the far western part of the Darfur region, has witnessed repeated attacks by the RSF during the current year. The town is also facing the threat of imminent famine, according to United Nations estimates, forcing thousands of residents to flee across the border into Chad.
