Stray Dogs Attack Villages in Al Jazirah, Injuring 23 People Including Children

The Ministry of Health in Al Jazirah State announced on Saturday that 23 people, including 11 children, were injured after being bitten by stray dogs in the Al-Awadia area of Umm Al-Qura locality.

The ministry stated that the injured individuals received first aid and the necessary medical care at Umm Al-Qura Hospital, while four cases were transferred to Wad Madani for further treatment.

It confirmed that all victims were administered rabies vaccine and treatment in accordance with approved health protocols.

The ministry also reported that approximately 200 additional doses of rabies vaccine had been dispatched to Umm Al-Qura locality to ensure completion of preventive vaccination schedules for the injured and to maintain an adequate reserve for any potential future cases.

According to the statement, local authorities launched a campaign to control stray dogs in coordination with the police, while residents of the area managed to eliminate four stray dogs.
