Humanitarian and Living Conditions Worsen in Kadugli
Kadugli – Mashawir
The suffering of residents in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State, has reached unprecedented levels due to severe shortages of food, healthcare services, and safe drinking water.
The threat of hunger and disease is increasingly looming over the population as humanitarian operations face significant restrictions caused by deteriorating security conditions and the closure of major roads. Local authorities have also struggled to meet the basic needs of residents.
Mahmoud Al-Fadil, a resident of the Al-Malakiya neighborhood, told Mashawir that road closures have disrupted the supply of food commodities and life-saving medicines.
He added that most residential areas are experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water, forcing many residents to rely on contaminated water sources, raising fears of outbreaks of dangerous diseases and epidemics.
