Health Crisis Deepens in El Obeid Due to Shortages of Supplies and Fuel

El Obeid – Mashawir

The city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, is experiencing worsening humanitarian conditions as a result of repeated attacks on vital infrastructure and a deepening health crisis caused by shortages of medical supplies and fuel, threatening the continuity of essential services.

The situation has become particularly critical following the destruction of the city’s main electricity substation, leading to an almost complete power outage, disruption of water services, and the emergence of long queues at the limited available water sources.

Fuel shortages, caused by continued attacks on fuel stations and petroleum transport vehicles in and around the city, have led to a near paralysis of transportation and an unprecedented rise in the prices of basic commodities.

On Monday evening, the city witnessed one of the most intense waves of drone attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Meanwhile, army drones expanded their operations, targeting and bombing RSF positions and concentrations around the areas of Kazgeil in North Kordofan, as well as Al-Debeibat and Al-Hammadi in West and South Kordofan states.
