Dar Hamar Emergency Room Declares Cholera Outbreak in En Nahud, Calls for Urgent Intervention

En Nahud – Mashawir

The Dar Hamar Emergency Room in Sudan’s West Kordofan State has announced a cholera outbreak in the localities of En Nahud and Wad Banda, as well as surrounding villages.

According to the emergency room, 30 deaths and approximately 800 confirmed cases have been recorded across more than 25 villages to date.

In an urgent public health alert, the organization also reported a severe shortage of diabetes medications in the northern localities of West Kordofan, warning that the health situation is rapidly deteriorating as the outbreak continues to spread.

The emergency room called on humanitarian organizations and health authorities to intervene immediately by providing essential medicines, intravenous fluids, and critical medical supplies needed to contain the cholera outbreak.

It also urged residents to follow public health guidance and adopt preventive measures to help limit the spread of the disease.
