Volunteers Organize Recreational Day for Displaced Children in El Obeid

Volunteers organized a recreational day for displaced children at Nafisa Mohamed Kamel School in El Obeid, featuring a variety of games and entertainment activities, along with prizes for the winning children.

The initiative was organized by the Jalabiya Unit of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society – North Kordofan State Branch as part of its efforts to ease the psychological impact of displacement and bring joy to children affected by the conflict.

As part of the same initiative, the unit also distributed lunch meals to 50 displaced families at Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari School, within its humanitarian programs aimed at supporting war-affected families and helping meet their basic needs.

Speaking to Mashaweer, volunteer Mohamed Salah said that the Jalabiya Unit continues to implement humanitarian and community initiatives that promote the values of solidarity and social cohesion while contributing to improving the living conditions of displaced people, in line with its humanitarian mission to support the most vulnerable groups.

Meanwhile, displaced resident Nour El-Din Musa told Mashaweer that the recreational day brought happiness to children who have been living under severe psychological stress as a result of war and displacement.

He added that activities like these provide children with an opportunity to interact and regain a sense of normalcy, while the food assistance offers vital support to families facing extremely difficult living conditions.
