IOM: 2,500 People Displaced from North Darfur Due to Insecurity

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said its field teams estimated that approximately 2,545 people were displaced from the villages of Wadi Ganaq and Wadi Khazan in Ambro locality, North Darfur State, between July 20 and July 23, 2026, as a result of escalating insecurity.
The organization added that the majority of the affected families crossed the border into Chad.
It noted that the situation remains tense and rapidly evolving, and that it continues to monitor developments as well as displacement and population movements across Sudan.
The escalation of fighting and violence, coupled with the deteriorating security situation across the Darfur region, has forced thousands of people to flee their homes.
