Strengthening Volunteers’ Capacities to Improve Humanitarian Response Efficiency in Sudanese IDP Camps

The Emergency Rooms of Foro Baranga locality in West Darfur State concluded a three-day training workshop targeting 100 male and female volunteers from various sectors of the locality. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the West Darfur State Emergency Rooms Coordination Council as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen volunteers’ capacities and improve the efficiency of humanitarian response.

The workshop aimed to develop participants’ skills and enable them to carry out their roles effectively, thereby contributing to better humanitarian services and stronger community response within the locality, amid the challenges facing communities affected by the crisis.

Abdel Rahman Haroun, a member of the West Darfur State Emergency Rooms Coordination Council, told Mashaweer that organizing the workshop was part of joint efforts to build volunteers’ capacities and prepare them to perform their duties efficiently.

He stressed that investing in the training of volunteer personnel is a fundamental pillar for strengthening humanitarian action and providing more effective services to targeted communities.

For their part, participants expressed their appreciation to the organizing bodies, the West Darfur State Emergency Rooms Coordination Council, and the Foro Baranga Locality Emergency Rooms, commending the efforts made to implement the workshop.

Trainee Issa Musaed told Mashaweer that the workshop had contributed to developing their knowledge and practical skills. He expressed hope that more training programs would be organized to further strengthen volunteers’ capacities, enable them to serve their communities, and respond to humanitarian needs more effectively.
