Health Initiative Supports Displaced Women of Reproductive Age in Darfur

The Foro Baranga Women’s Emergency Room in West Darfur State has implemented a project to distribute health kits to 70 displaced women of reproductive age in the western sector of the locality. The initiative aims to improve the health conditions of displaced women and girls while addressing their essential needs.

The project is part of the community-based initiatives led by the Emergency Room to promote the dignity of women and girls by providing essential health supplies and improving their living conditions across the locality and its administrative units.

Mahla Osman, a member of the Foro Baranga Women’s Emergency Room, told Mashaweer that the project targets the most vulnerable groups and reflects the Emergency Room’s commitment to continuing humanitarian initiatives that respond to the needs of women and girls.

She added that the organization is working to expand similar interventions to further support local communities and strengthen the role of women.

One of the beneficiaries, Fatima Abbas, expressed her appreciation for the initiative in a statement to Mashaweer, noting that the health kits meet a critical need for women and girls, particularly under the current humanitarian conditions.

She called for such programs to continue and be expanded to reach a greater number of beneficiaries across different areas of the locality.
