Volunteer Initiative Supports Displaced Families in West Darfur

Volunteers in El Geneina, West Darfur State, have concluded a project to distribute non-food items to displaced families after completing the seventh and final phase of the distribution campaign, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the humanitarian conditions of people affected by the war.

The final phase targeted displaced families sheltering at the Faculty of Medicine Center and Ardamata Secondary Schools for Boys and Girls, where beneficiaries received comprehensive packages of essential non-food items to help meet their basic needs and improve living conditions in the shelters.

Speaking to Mashaweer, Issa Arbab, a member of the United Sudan Organization, said:

> “The project was successfully completed after reaching all of the targeted displacement centers.”

He explained that a total of 1,219 displaced families across various shelters in El Geneina benefited from the initiative, helping to ease their living burdens and improve humanitarian conditions.

Meanwhile, Ali Safi Al-Nour, a volunteer activist in El Geneina, told Mashaweer that the distribution of non-food items provides vital support to displaced families, particularly as displacement continues and humanitarian needs continue to grow.

He noted that many families still require additional assistance, especially shelter materials and basic household items.

Al-Nour called on humanitarian organizations to continue their interventions to ensure that assistance reaches all families most in need.
