The Tawila Emergency Response Room in North Darfur State has concluded its community kitchen project for displaced families at Daba Nayra Camp, following 14 days of providing daily meals to displaced households. The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering and strengthen food security amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
During the project, daily meals were provided to the most vulnerable families in the camp, helping to meet part of their food needs throughout the implementation period while humanitarian challenges facing displaced communities continue.
Abdullah Hassan, a member of the Tawila Emergency Response Room, told Mashaweer that the conclusion of the project does not mean that humanitarian needs have come to an end.
He stressed that thousands of families still require regular food assistance, underscoring the need for continued support from humanitarian partners and donors to ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable populations.
He added that the Emergency Response Room extends its sincere appreciation to the relief organizations that supported the project.
He also praised the dedication of the volunteers and staff whose efforts contributed to the project’s success, emphasizing that coordinated humanitarian action remains a cornerstone of the response to the needs of displaced people as the crisis continues.
