Anti-War Forces: Sudan Needs Genuine Peace, Not a Deceptive Dialogue
Addis Ababa – Mashaweer
The joint position paper of anti-war forces stated that “Sudan needs a genuine peace process, not a deceptive dialogue.”
The statement added: “We reject Al-Burhan’s call for dialogue because it amounts to the de facto partition of Sudan.”
The document explained: “Al-Burhan’s call is not neutral, and we reject any dialogue formulated under the control of one of the parties to the war.”
It continued: “There is no meaning to any political process that is not linked to ending the war and addressing the humanitarian catastrophe.”
The statement further said: “We reject any dialogue aimed at entrenching authoritarianism and military rule. The essence of Al-Burhan’s call is to reinforce the hijacking of the state by elements of the former regime.”
