The humanitarian situation of displaced people in Abu Jubeiha locality, South Kordofan State, has deteriorated amid continued waves of displacement driven by the expansion of fighting across the region and the resulting increase in basic needs.
The city of Abu Jubeiha is hosting around 58,000 displaced people, distributed across more than 60 sites. Displaced families face growing needs in water, sanitation, and medical care, while available services remain limited compared with the scale of those needs.
Speaking to Mashaweer, volunteer activist in Abu Jubeiha Faisal Al-Bashari said, “The growing number of displaced people is placing significant pressure on the city’s basic services, particularly water, healthcare, and sanitation services.”
He added that “displaced families urgently need humanitarian interventions to help them cope with the conditions of displacement.”
Al-Bashari called on humanitarian organizations and supporting agencies to scale up their response and direct more assistance to areas receiving large numbers of displaced people.
He also highlighted “the importance of continued coordination among local initiatives, humanitarian organizations, and the host community to ensure that services and assistance reach the families most in need.”
