Displaced people in the Dali camp in the Farouk area, in Kutum locality of North Darfur State, are facing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions amid severe shortages of basic necessities and a decline in essential services.
According to local emergency response rooms, the most pressing needs among displaced people include severe food shortages, as well as a lack of shelter and essential relief materials. Health services have also deteriorated, while access to clean drinking water remains limited, amid a response that falls far short of the scale of needs.
Ahmed Taj al-Din, a volunteer activist in North Darfur State, told Mashawir that the Farouk Emergency Response Room is making volunteer efforts, with support from the North Darfur State Emergency Response Rooms Coordination Council, to alleviate the suffering of displaced people in Dali camp.
He added that the emergency room has carried out interventions including the distribution of shelter materials and food baskets to displacement-affected families, with the aim of helping them cope with the difficult humanitarian conditions and strengthening their resilience.
Taj al-Din noted that “the scale of needs continues to exceed the available local resources.”
He called on international humanitarian organizations to strengthen their interventions and respond urgently to the growing needs, particularly in the areas of food, water, healthcare, and shelter.
