The World Health Organization (WHO) has signed a joint plan with the Sudanese Ministry of Health for the 2026-2027 period, in the presence of Shible Sahbani, the WHO Representative in Sudan, and Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing that the plan includes multiple pillars aimed at strengthening the country’s health system. He praised the technical and logistical support provided by the organization at both regional and global levels and thanked the staff who contributed to preparing this plan.
For his part, Shible Sahbani, the WHO Representative in Sudan, explained that “the partnership includes cooperation with the African Bank and the implementation of several development projects.”
He noted that the agreement signed between the Ministry of Health and the WHO spans two years and aims to build a robust health system that meets the needs of Sudanese citizens.
He extended his thanks to the Federal Minister of Health and the WHO office in Sudan for their efforts in responding to the requirements of the Sudanese people.
The meeting also addressed arrangements for Sudan’s participation in the World Health Organization meeting scheduled to be held in May 2026.
