Cholera Cases and Deaths Rise in North Kordofan

The Ministry of Health in North Kordofan State has confirmed that the health situation in the state has stabilized following a recent cholera outbreak. The outbreak was triggered in part by the shutdown of water stations due to power outages.

According to the ministry, 82 new cholera cases were recorded over the past two days, bringing the cumulative total to 6,075 cases. Currently, 275 patients are being treated in isolation centers, while 5,326 people have recovered and 457 deaths have been reported since the onset of the outbreak.

A widespread cholera outbreak is affecting large parts of the country, including the states of Khartoum, Sennar, Al Jazirah, North Kordofan, and South Darfur.
