A shocking video circulated on social media has sparked outrage, showing a soldier in Rapid Support Forces (RSF) uniform executing a civilian by gunfire in the city of El Fasher.
The National Umma Party condemned what it described as a heinous crime, reflecting the dangerous persistence of violations and disregard for international humanitarian law, and “exposing the falsity of RSF’s claims” regarding its commitment to protecting civilians.
In a statement, the party appealed to the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to condemn and document such crimes, hold perpetrators accountable, and take the necessary measures to end violations and protect innocent civilians.
The statement further noted that the continuation of this criminal war only means more atrocities and crimes, worsening the humanitarian catastrophe affecting the Sudanese people, including siege, starvation, and systematic destruction, as is the case in El Fasher and in South and West Kordofan.
