Rising Cases of Epidemics and Seasonal Diseases in North Darfur

The weekly report of the Emergency Health and Epidemic Control Room in North Darfur State revealed an increase in cases of epidemics and seasonal (rainy-season) diseases.

The state is witnessing a steady rise in infection rates, particularly with the spread of cholera, as the total number of recorded cases across Darfur has exceeded 7,161, while the death toll has risen to 306, according to the General Coordination of Displaced Persons in Darfur.

The update indicated that the epidemic has spread to the areas of Tawrah, Rubaya, and Tebsa, as well as other parts of Jebel Marra, including Golo, Jaldo, Deribat, Rokero, Fina, and Nertiti. It has also reached Sortony, Otash, Dreij, and Al-Salam camps, in addition to Hasahisa and Hamidiya camps in Zalingei, Central Darfur.
