Human Rights Organizations Call for the Handover of “Abu Lulu” to the International Criminal Court

Reports – Mashawir

The Sudanese Group for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms and the Darfur Bar Association have called on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to hand over the individual known as Abu Lulu to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to demonstrate its seriousness about his arrest. They added that otherwise, any action the militia might take regarding him would be meaningless.

In a joint statement, the organizations stressed that the RSF has no legitimate prosecution authority capable of conducting a recognized investigation, nor any competent judicial system qualified to prosecute such crimes — especially given the substantial preliminary evidence implicating the accused in crimes against humanity and genocide in the city of El Fasher.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi, welcomed the call by members of the U.S. Senate to designate the Rapid Support Forces as a terrorist organization.
